There are 45 other children who now live at the Agape orphanage. They range in ages from 12 months to 18 years. Most of the children have lost their parents to AIDS.
The children have a wonderful choir and they sing almost everyday at the Centre.
Agape was founded by a lady called Gogo "Grandma" Zodwa. She was working as an HIV counselor and found that many of the people she was counseling expressed deep concern about what would happen to their children when they were no longer around. So Zodwa established Agape to look after these children. Agape has had a tumultuous journey, but under Zodwa’s loving guidance it continues to grow stronger. Agape is a Greek word meaning “unconditional love”, which is exactly what the children at Agape receive.
The children of Agape will be taking it in turns to contribute to The Children's Blog, where you can read what has been happening in their lives.
Slindile also her own blog which you can view here.
